Fisherman's Landing Tackle Shop Tackle Report

The Dolphin's Halibut trip today yielded 18 legal Halibut ranging from 14 to 22 lbs, with 16 undersized Halibut released. Additionally, 15 Bonito were caught by 45 anglers.  

Tackle Recommendations:

• Rod: A medium-heavy action rod suitable for bottom fishing.​
• Reel: A conventional reel with a strong drag system.​
• Line: 30-50 lb test braided line for sensitivity and strength.​
• Hooks: Owner 3/0 to 5/0 circle hooks are effective for Halibut.​
• Bait: Live bait such as sardines or mackerel, or soft plastic swimbaits.
