Traditional fishing reel design applies the drag pressure to only one side of the spool resulting in excessive heat buildup and uneven pressure applied to reel components. TwinDrag applies equal pressure to both sides of the spool. That’s 50% of the total pressure on each side. This allows for a perfectly balanced load on the reel bearings, spool and washers; thus translating into stronger, smoother drags. In addition, the increased surface area obtained by doubling the surface area of drag washers allows for increased heat dissipation and more accurate drag settings with very little fluctuation.

Die-cast parts will not be found anywhere on Accurate TwinDrag reels. The Platinum and Boss Magnum reels are machined from solid-bar, aluminum stock, using 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum for the sideplates, frame, spool, handle and base clamp. This high-grade aluminum is not only extremely strong and light weight, it also offers superior corrosion protection and is the perfect heat sync to help dissipate drag heat away from vital components.
